Bayville School has neighborhood children attending grades kindergarten through four with four preschool developmental classes. Our population at the end of the 2005-06 school year is 460 with four sections of each grade level. About 60 children walk to and from school. All kindergartners are bussed.  Two years ago, Bayville School opened a new addition that increased the size of the school by 86%. With a second year of full day kindergarten, we are now seeing excellent progress in our first graders.  With the second year of the new Harcourt literacy program, we concentrated on all of the teachers applying the techniques of the Collins Writing Program. Full day inservices occurred and follow-up meetings helped teachers to increase student's skills with a variety of types of writing.
