Board Looks To April Referendum To Help Fund Pre-School Program
As early as April, the Berkeley Board of Education may be asking voters to approve
a $10 million to $15 million referendum to construct an addition to its schools for the state-mandated full-day pre-school
program. Proposed costs to install solar energy panels on some of the district's four schools would also be included in
the referendum.

Ocean First helps Berkeley & Central Regional Districts Berkeley Township schools recently received grants in the amount of $35,000 from OceanFirst Bank, Bayville, for the
Central Regional Middle School and the Bayville Elementary School to upgrade library and media centers.
Grant will help slow down traffic on Eastern Blvd. & Maryland
Ave. The state Department of Transportation is awarding $285,000
to Berkeley Township in a 2008 Municipal Aid Grant for roadwork improvements in the Sylvan Lakes section of town, announced
Councilman Carmen Amato on Thursday.
