Central Regional School District

crhsuse.jpg
Located in Bayville, Central Regional High School draws from the constituent districts of Berkeley, Island Heights, Ocean Gate, Seaside Heights and Seaside Park. Students from all these districts bring special qualities with them that make our district unique and distinctive. Our students are also afforded the opportunity to attend five county vocational schools. In addition, we have a Cooperative Industrial Education program that allows students to attend school part of the day and work the remainder of their school day.

The high school had seven objectives for the 2005-06 school year. The first goal was to continue to reduce the incidences of bullying within the high school. The remaining goals focused on the High School Proficiency Assessment. Two goals focused on a 10% reduction (safe harbor) in special education in both mathematics and English for students not reaching the AYP benchmark on the High School Proficiency Assessment. The remaining goals were to increase the participation rate of the number of Grade 11 special education and regular students on the HSPA to at least 95%. Through the hard work and dedication of our staff, students, and parents, Central Regional High School reached all 40 indicators under N.C.L.B.

Central Regional Middle School draws from the constituent districts of Seaside Park, Seaside Heights, Ocean Gate, Island Heights, and Berkeley Township. This has helped create a unique and diverse student body as well as providing a stimulating, comprehensive, and cultural educational environment. The middle school enrollment is approximately 800 students in grades 7 and 8. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Barnegat Bay, and the Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey, the area is rich in culture, tradition, and learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom.

Much of our seventh grade population enters the building from elementary schools that range from 80-110 pupils while others enter from elementary schools with populations of 500-650 pupils. To provide students with a smooth transition from the elementary schools, we have established a “teaming” concept.
